I’m Erica, and I am an artist (and estates and trusts lawyer) living just outside Washington, D.C. I am originally from Massachusetts and moved to D.C. in 2010 to attend law school.

I’ve enjoyed drawing and painting since I was little, and took every art class I could from elementary through high school. After that, I went to Northeastern University where I studied Political Science with law school in mind…but I made art my minor. Someone asked if I wanted to make political cartoons. I just wanted balance. I’m a libra!

Fast forward through the last fifteen + years, and here we are. I started painting more regularly and decided to share my hobby with a larger audience. While I love many forms of creating, I primarily paint in watercolor and acrylic. I love color and focus on familiar places and objects that evoke joy, nostalgia, and playfulness.

I am a member of the Capital Artist Collective, an online gallery and group of local artists who share and sell new work based on a different theme each month. I have also sold work through Shop Made in DC and Serena & Lily and participate in as many local shows and markets as I can.

If it seems that I have been a bit quiet on here, there is good reason! My husband and I purchased and have been renovating a home since April of this year, and welcomed a baby boy in September. While the house and baby have been keeping me busy, expect a return and some new art in the new year!
